TOGETHER WE SUPPORT HIV CARE IN UKRAINE
Nearly 3 million people are living with HIV in Europe. The HIV/AIDS care in one of Europe's most HIV-affected countries, Ukraine, is threatened by an unprecedented war.
Dr. Casper Rokx from the Netherlands, who works at Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, and dr. Marta Vasylyev, who works at Astar Medical Center Lviv Ukraine, are 2 doctors specialized in treating HIV and united in an European network of HIV medical specialists. ‘Through the Young Investigators (YING) of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS), we specialists from accross Europe are united with each other. The war in Ukraine endangers the care of people living with HIV and the HIV care providers there on the ground, including our own YING colleagues.’
With all YING colleagues we could not stand by with words alone and started the EACS endorsed '#aware.hiv Ukraine - dare to share care' initiative, to support the Ukrainian people in these dark times.
You can help us: your donation is used to support the urgent medical needs for Ukrainians with HIV who are displaced or stayed in Ukraine. Donations for this aim will go to recognized medical organizations with a demonstrable EACS connection. Through our EACS network, we will ensure that all support gets to the right place.
With just 200 euro's, we can already support a monthly salary of 1 HIV specialised Ukrainian doctor helping Ukrainian refugees .
Donations are handled by the Erasmus MC Foundation. This is a public benefit institution of the Erasmus MC University Medical Center, home to one of the EACS YING faculty doctors who started this initiative. This official support fund handles the transparent processing of the donations; you can be 100% sure that your donation is traceable and will reach the right place.
